Author’s Corner

I received a poem from one of my second graders the other week.  I was so impressed, I not only created a blog to share more of my students work but had the other students create their own poem using her style.  I know she would love to hear your comments.  Here is her poem…

What is Blue?

Blue is the sky

The sky is very high

Blue is the ocean

The ocean would be a very pretty potion

Blue is my ball,

And also the color of my mom’s bedroom wall

And blue is one of my favorite colors.

My students inspire me!  I always love the unexpected question or tangent a first or second grader has within the classroom.  They help me to guide them in learning more real and meaningful things.  It is their questions, tangents, ideas that helped me focus my blog.  The purpose of this blog is to share with you their writing which I find innocent and sincere.
